Turkana Tribal Tour

This is the trip that you'll never forget. The one that changes the very essence of your being. Immerse yourself in the lives of tribes who still hold on to their ancient cultural practices. Peer into human history and live through an alternative reality.

Wake up early in the morning. You'll drive up to Samburu which is 5 hours away and spend the first night there. In the afternoon, you can go on a game drive in the Reserve or choose to hike up the sacred mountain.

Wake up early in the morning for the drive to South Horr in Northern Kenya. You'll stop by Ngurunit sliding rocks and water pools which are surrounded by mountain ranges called Ndoto mountains which means 'dreamy mountains' in Swahili. Leave Ngurunit and drive up to South Horr. You'll arrive at the beautiful lodge that you'll call home for 4 days.

Wake up the next day, and spend the morning relaxing after a long drive. You can take a walk in the cedar forest surrounding the lodge or go down to the lodge's beautiful waterfalls.

Wake up early morning and drive out to the remote northern tribes. You'll pass by a massive wind farm on your way to Lake Turkana. Arrive in Loiyangalani where you're met by the stunning views of the world's oldest alkaline waterbody - lake Turkana. Here you'll meet the Turkana and El Molo people living on the shores of the lake. You can go to the Elmollo shrine Island by boat if you'd like. Drive back to the lodge in the afternoon.

Wake up and you will drive out to Lake Logipi where you'll spend the morning seeing flamingoes and the stunning views surrounding the lake. Get back to the lodge in the afternoon for some chill time. Meet the Samburu tribe that lives near the lodge later in the evening. Get some souvenirs from the women who make a large variety of handcrafted jewelry and handmade goods. Have some sundowners and dinner later on.

Early morning drive out to Samburu which will take a couple of hours from South Horr. Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon, relax, take a swim then go for an evening game drive. Get back, have dinner and sit by the fire, and exchange stories with the Samburu team.

Wake up, get some breakfast then drive back to Nairobi. It will take around 5 hours to get back.
