This lodge is special because of its unique stargazing experience. They have cottages that are open on one side to roll out your bed at night for a prime sleeping experience. Words cannot fully capture it.

Wake up, you can go for a game drive in the nearby conservancy. Come back, chill, make brunch and enjoy it at the top patio overlooking the river. Hangout and spot some birds and more wildlife.

Wake up, have brunch then head out to the local wildlife school and meet one of the guides who is deeply involved in leopard tracking, especially the famed black panther. You can organize a tracking expedition with him if he's available. Come back to camp make dinner. Sit by the camp fire.

Wake up, make some breakfast, relax and then head out at around 11 am. Head back to Nairobi.

Drive out to Laikipia, about 5-hours from Nairobi. Arrive at the lodge, you'll be met by the wonderful Maasai team. Settle into your lodge. It's a self-catered camp so bring all your food and drinks with you. Go for a walk along the river bank next to the lodge. You'll spot a wide array of animals that come to the river. You can go running as the evening cools down or just enjoy a bonfire by the river bed.

4-Day Stay at the Stargazing Cottages

These starbeds are something special. They are set on a raised platform overlooking the mighty Ewaso Nyiro River and the landscape beyond. The room is partly covered by a thatch roof, under which rests the weirdest sleeping contraption you’re ever likely to encounter. 

The double beds can be wheeled out into the open for a night of sleeping in the open air under the twinkling stars, safely cloaked in a big mosquito net.
